York Family from NC and Arkansas

I'm doing research into my family and have gone as far as Thomas M. York ( My great Great Grandfather ) His father came to the U.S. via ship from Ireland, while enroute the ship was wrecked and he was found floating in the Atlantic holding on to a Trunk. This is the only Info we have other thatn he settled in NC and that is where Thomas was born. Thomas married Nancy Jane Campbell in Arkansas in 1854. Thomas was born on 10/24/1822 in NC. Any one with a similar story so we can maybe find a match? Thanks!!
