It may be worth your while to look at the John York b. abt 1864-1865 TN who was the son of James York b. abt 1824, Florence, Lauderdale, Co, AL d. aft 1880 Shelby Co, TN, and Mary Elizabeth Deweese b. 10 Dec 1824 Lawrence Co, TN d. 11 Jan 1915.
This could be your John York -- the same as the John York b. Oct 1863, father of Charles Edward York and George York (found in the 1900 Stone Co, AR census).
