Is anyone out there researching the York/Yorke from England? My gt,gt,gt grandmother was Rachel Hooper Kirby (nee York) born approx 1828 in Newington in London. Her father was Edward D Yorke/York born 1782 in Old Windsor, Berkshire, England. Her mother's name was Elizabeth born in 1784 in Biddeford Devon. Her brother was Ferdinand Gustavus York born 1820 - 1824. I understand that he had a son called Ferdinand Robert York born in 1846.
