I have wondered what happened to Wiley York, the son of John York and Mary Isabelle Phillips, and did find a Wiley Nathaniel York who moved to Cleburne County, ARKANSAS and wondered if he was the same Wiley York who was in Cleburne County, ALABAMA in 1880 and 1900 census's. If he was the same Wiley York, can tell you more about his mother Mary Isabelle Phillips. Mary Isabelle Phillips was born about 1858 in probably Carroll County, Georgia and died about 1878 or 1879 in Cleburne County, Alabama. Mary Isabelle Phillips was the daughter of Burrell Green Phillips and Rebecca Ann McElroy. Burrell Green Phillips was born about 1834 in Georgia and died during the civil war at the battle of Vicksburg, Miss. on March 22, 1863. He is buried at the Vicksburg City Cemetery. Burrell Green Phillips married Rebecca Ann McElroy on Feb. 25, 1855 in Carroll County, Georgia. After Burrell Green Phillips died, Rebecca Ann, his wife, remarried to Andrew Jackson SKINNER on Aug. 31, 1872 in Cleburne County, Alabama. They were my gg grandparents. I have more info on the PHILLIPS and McELROY families and would be pleased to share the family information with you. Would like to know more about Wiley York's family, his children, when and where he died, where he is buried, etc. Candace tealtree@comcast.net Notify Administrator about this message?
