Richard York Possibly Richard Work?????

Dear York researchers;

Please go to the McCarter Genforum and look at the two postings which I posted yesterday. Anne McCarter (Born: 1750) married Richard York. They settled in Pendleton County, South Carolina. I do realize that this is way, way, way out there. But! Do you think that it might be a possibility that Anne's husband's family name was Work and for reasons unknown - got listed in the South Carolina records as York. I have a copy of Anne's father's will and I am just curious if Richard's name got listed as York instead of Work. Subsequent documents also have his name as York.

Anne's father Moses McCarter, Sr. in 1752 was appointed and listed as one of the executors in both the wills of William Perry and Jennet Perry - husband and wife of Bart Township, Lancaster County, PA. Again, I know that this is way, way out there. Any input would be appreciated it.

Thank you,
Anna Walker
