In researching my Warren surname, I came across some information that may be helpful to York researchers. Here it is:

Wylie S. YORK b. 8 June 1887 d. 5 April 1969 was the son of Isaiah Spears York b. Dec 1861 MS d. 1926 Rusk County TX and his wife Nancy 'Nannie' Victoria Southerland born 28 Jan 1870 Grayson Co TX d. 6 Mar 1959 (her parents Tom Southerland and Victoria Covey).

Isaiah Spears York was in turn the son of William D. York born 28 Sept 1835 TN and his wife Sarah E. (unknown) born 14 Feb 1830 GA d. 7 Mar 1903 (buried in Tatum Cemetery, Rusk County, TX along with many of the family members.)

William D. York born 28 Sept 1835 TN appears to be the son of Edward York born ca 1810 Nash Co. NC and his wife Caroline Spears born ca. 1810 who married in Gibson County, TN on 5 Dec 1834. (See World Connect posting)

My interest was the son of Isaiah Spears York who had a 2nd marriage into the Warren family of Rusk County, TX. Wylie S. York born 8 June 1887 first married a Janie O. Unknown born 19 Aug 1885 d. 14 Sept 1978 and lived in Groesbeck, Limestone County, TX working as a tailor. They had two girls that I know of: Sibyl or Sybil Lydia York born 26 Nov 1910 (who married an unknown ESTES) and Shirley York. Wylie S. York and first wife Janie O. York divorced and he married 2nd a woman who lived in Henderson, Rusk County, Tx: Inez Warren born 20 Feb 1910 TX d. 5 Feb 1988 (buried Memorial Gardens Cemetery Rusk Co TX). This was a first marriage for Inez Warren, the daughter of John Stephen Warren and Effie Eliza Gossett. They had no children together in 2nd marriage. He was called 'York' and went around buying up mineral rights for a living. Inez (Warren) York worked in a photographic studio (The Warren Studio in Henderson, Rusk Co TX).

William D. York b. 1835, his wife Sarah E and many of their children are buried in Tatum Cemetery, Rusk County TX which is online. I would be interested in hearing from descendants of the children of Wylie S. York and Janie (unknown), Sibyl Lydia (York) Estes) or Shirley York to share information.
