I, too, believe that I am related to the Zimmermans that you have listed in your email. My line is as follows:
Andreas Zimmerman + Elizabeth Freyberd
Hans Michael Zimmerman + Anna Elizabeth Dodderer
John Michael Zimmerman + Elizabeth
John Zimmerman + Catherine Barbara Lutz
Andrew Zimmerman + Ruth Ann Taylor
George Zimmerman + Mariah Jane Church
Walter Leroy Zimmerman + Bessie D. Harford (my grandparents)
The connection between Andrew & George is the 1850 US Federal Census of Hardin County, Ohio, where I find George and Sarah (George's first wife, Sarah Jane Saxton) living with Ruth Zimmerman.
This is taken from "The History of Hardin County [Ohio]" page 572: "Andrew Zimmerman, a native of Maryland, married Ruth Taylor and emigrated to Ross County, Ohio, about the year 1800. In the fall of 1835, he removed to this township, and settled on the northwest quarter of Section 32, where he died, September 14, 1844, aged seventy years. He wife died, November 24, 1855, aged seventy years. Their children were John, Andrew, Jefferson, Obadiah, Elijah D., George, Elizabeth, Margaret, Delilah, Maria, Lavinia and Eliza Jane.
Michael Zimmerman, brother of the above Andrew, married Barbara Taylor, and settled here, at same date, on the southwest quarter of Section 33, near Round Head, where he died, March 12, 1849, aged seventy-two years. His wife died, September 21, 1852, aged seventy-six years. Their children were Henry, Michael, Samuel, Cynthia, Maria, and some others who died young."
Andrew was born 31 Dec 1773 in Frederick County, Maryland and died 14 Sep 1844 in Roundhead Township, Hardin County, Ohio. He married Ruth Ann Taylor, (b. 1777 in PA, d. 24 Sep 1855 in Roundhead Township, Hardin County, Ohio) 27 Dec 1796 in Frederick, Frederick County, Maryland.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to find much on Andrew Zimmerman, George's father. I guess he kept a low profile.
