I was looking through the old message I had written and noticed that was return message. I'm sorry it has been so long in answering. I have not been searching this family for quite awhile.
Here is the information I have. Carl August Zimmerman is my husband's gg-grandfather through Ida Zimmerman. Ida married August Liebenow in 1881. They had 4 children: Martin August Ernest Liebenow, Henry August(Albert)Leebenow or Liebenow, Ernest M. Liebenow, Martha Liebenow, and Herman L. Liebenow. There is no reference to their having a son named Robert.
August and Ida Liebenow were the parents of my husband's father Henry August(Albert)Leebenow and then Henry's daughter Mrytle Leebenow who is my husband's mother.
One other item that is going around the family is that August and Ida were divorced and that Ida ran away from August and took her mothers name because she did want August to find her. There the information stops. No one seems to know what happened between the two of them.
